National
Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) is a premier laboratory within the ambit of
Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, a statutory body under
Government of India.
Founded in 1950, NML has been serving local and overseas clients undertaking sponsored
R&D projects and development in various fields related to Minerals, Metals and
Materials pertaining to their beneficiation and value addition, extraction and processing,
characterization, testing and evaluation, life cycle technology, corrosion behavior,
materials development, specialized chemical analysis, modeling and simulation waste
management and pollution control.
NML maintains extensive links and collaborations with national/international research
organizations and institutes of higher learning to keep abreast of the latest development
in basic research and technologies and develop long-term partnerships in research that is
becoming more and more multidisciplinary.
NML has implemented ISO 9001:2000 quality management system for Research and Development,
Consultancy, Technical services and Testing in the area of minerals, metals and materials
including metallurgical wastes and pollutants and is certified by TUV-South Asia.
