NATIONAL METALLURGICAL LABORATORY

The Temperature calibration facility was established with the sole aim to calibrate and standardize RTDs and thermocouples of high and low temperature range for a variety of industries ranging from power plants, steel plants, foundry units, heat treatment shops to several other small scale industries.

 

Calibration Services…

  • Calibration of thermocouples, devices and temperature measuring instruments from ambient temperature to 1450 degree Celcius

Master Sensors:  

  • Type S Thermocouple (Scandura, Italy)
  • Type S Thermocouple (ISOTECH, UK)
  • SPRT (NPL, India)
  • PRT (Scandura, Italy)

 


Major facilities include 

High Temperature Furnace Thermolyne USA (upto 1500 deg. C and 1700 deg. C)

Dry block calibrator(- 20 to 150 deg.C) Druck DBC 150TC

Dry well calibrator (50 to 650 deg.C) Druck DBC 650TC

ZEREF Triple point cell, Isothermal Technologies UK(Calibration at absolute zero)

Keithley740 System Scanning Thermometer Keithley USA 

Multifunction calibrator (EUROTRON-Microcal 200+)

7 ½ digit Nanovolt/Microhm meter (HP-Agilent)

 

Temperature calibration done as per the standard test method for calibration of thermocouples by comparison method using state-of-the-equipment and Master sensors having traceability to NPL, India .
